Microcrystalline tiles

Brightness

The surface of microcrystalline tiles is coated with a transparent glass layer (much thicker than polished glazed tiles) and contains reflective crystals, enabling the tile surface to reflect passing light exceptionally well. When installed in well-lit areas, microcrystalline tiles enhance the reflective effect, making the space significantly brighter.

A small test to check the surface reflectivity by shining a flashlight closely onto the surface easily shows that the crystals on the microcrystalline tile surface illuminate and create a much larger illuminated area compared to full polished porcelain tiles.

Tile body thickness

The microcrystalline tile body is 12mm thick, significantly thicker than full polished porcelain tiles, offering excellent load-bearing capacity and minimizing warping.

Surface flatness

With the naked eye, one can easily notice that images reflected on the surface of full polished porcelain tiles exhibit refraction distortion due to an uneven surface. In contrast, microcrystalline tiles coated with a glass layer have almost absolute flatness, allowing images to be fully reflected.

Classification

In the premium floor tile collection, microcrystalline tiles also feature another variant: matte microcrystalline tiles, which share the exact same characteristics and quality as standard microcrystalline tiles. The only difference is that the glass surface is given a matte finish. If you want a tile of flawless quality without overwhelming the space with excessive glare, matte microcrystalline tiles are the number one choice.
