2.6. Decorative Tiles for Skylights

2.7. Decorative Tiles for Bar Counters
Bar counters or kitchen islands often feature characteristic curved edges along with a relatively small surface area; therefore, designers tend to choose decorative tiles for this area. 3.1. Which decorative tile models are trending and popular nowadays?
3 lines of decorative tiles frequently chosen by customers at KHATRA:
– Long strip subway tiles 75×300 and square subway tiles 100×100, 150×150 suitable for designs with Retro, Mid-century, Japandi vibes…

3.2. Subway tiles are beautiful but have many grout lines, are they easy to clean?
Having many grout lines is a signature characteristic and also a feature contributing to the unique beauty of decorative subway tiles thanks to distinctive contrasting grout designs.
Cleaning is also the question the KHATRA team receives most often; we always recommend clients use Epoxy (resin-based) grout during installation instead of traditional white cement. This grout is 100% waterproof, does not yellow, and prevents moss/mildew growth, keeping walls looking as clean as new.
3.3. In which areas should decorative tiles be used?
This type of tile is not recommended for full-space coverage, but should only be used as accent areas.
– Kitchen: Backsplash wall between upper and lower cabinets, kitchen floor standing area
– Bathroom: Accent wall for vanity/sink area or walk-in shower wall
– Commercial spaces: Bar counters, beverage stations, tabletop cladding, entryway flooring,…
3.4. Are decorative tiles sold per square meter or per piece?
Depending on the tile type, there are different sales specifications:
– Calculated per square meter (sqm): patterned tiles, subway tiles, hexagon, mosaic…
